With her drive and determination it was inevitable that Marion Creedon Hegarty would be a success! Initially she discovered the then new concept of Image Consultancy and became an expert in creating the perfect look for every client. She became an international award-winning image consultant with Colour Me Beautiful and went on to develop her own cosmetic range, Top Image tan, and accessories for women.
Years of hard work and dedication have resulted in her brand Top Image becoming a huge success nationwide, with stores in both Cork and Dublin. Marion is a style icon herself, wearing bold colours and elegant tailored items she exudes glamour both day and night. Marion lives life at 100 miles per hour and is always going, going, going! She is one of the friendliest, bubbliest people you could meet and it’s a pleasure just to be in her company.Marion is a firm believer in staying strong and positive and is quick to acknowledge her wonderful life and family and the importance of giving something back.
In 1983, Marion’s husband, Tom Creedon, a Cork footballer, died after a tragic accident leaving Marion to rear their baby, also Tom, alone. Marion set about finding a business which wouldn’t affect her son but would fill the void in her life. After two years of searching, she discovered the then new concept of Image Consultancy. This led her into the familiar territory of cosmetics, fashion and accessories, but with a new approach. Initially, she worked from home in her converted garage while Tom was at school or in bed in the evenings. As he grew, he became very proficient at answering the telephone and taking appointments!
As the business grew, Marion rented a premises in Merchants Quay Shopping Centre. From there, she purchased number 31 Grand Parade, from where she still trades today. Marion was an International Award-Winning Image Consultant with Color Me Beautiful before she decided to bring in her own cosmetic range, Top Image tan and accessories. She now supplies outlets throughout Ireland.
When Tom was eleven, Marion married Cormac Hegarty, a property developer. He has encouraged and supported her and Tom ever since. Tom is now a stockbroker, based in Hong Kong and is Marions pride and joy.
Marion’s wholesale cash and carry premises at Fashion City has 5000 square feet of every type of fashion accessory for weddings, debutantes, casual and business wear. This includes headpieces, neckpieces, day and evening bags, shawls, scarves etc. She also keeps an extensive range of mannequins, jewellery boxes and pouches for her wholesale clients. Marion believes that her success is in large part due to the efforts of her excellent staff, who treat the business and the customers as if they were their own. Marion feels very lucky to be involved in a business that she loves and is passionate about.
